Mumbl Limited held its second event this Saturday 17th of March at the Sapna cultural center in Gembloux, Belgium. This event was focused on young Belgian entrepreneurs who presented their businesses. The Mumbl team also celebrated their first year of existence on this day.
Alexandre Rossez presented B-Powers, a web hosting company. He and three of his friends started this company while they were still studying at the Ephec (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium). They wanted to gain experience and understand how to create a company. Their goal was also to promote the Belgian presence on the Web. Alexandre says that they have learned more than they could have learned in any other way.
Raffaël Buonatesta is CEO of FytoFend, an innovative spin-off of the Plant Cell Research Unit of the University of Namur. He explained how the research unit came up with a biological alternative for plant protection. From there, a company had to be created in order to commercialise this product. Raffaël led us through a step by step presentation of how this was done and what they expect from the future.
Sébastien Croegaert (Sales Manager) and Denis Hecq (Managing Director) came to present Printbox. They started off by simply reselling printed t-shirts and sweatshirts to the different student groups of Louvain-la-Neuve where they were studying. Now, Printbox employs 14 people and has a space of over 1350 square meters. They specialize in textile printing and embroidery. Sample t-shirts were offered to all the people who attended the event.
Finally, Nicolas Jacobeus, Managing Director at Belighted, presented his journey as an entrepreneur. He explained the reasons why he wanted to create a company, how he created it and what difficulties he encountered. He also provided valuable advice and insight to those who wish to become entrepreneurs.
